40 Days For Life, a national anti-abortion organization, has chosen one of our local Planned Parenthood sites as the target of it's misguided campaign to end the “evil of abortion” through prayer. According to its supporters, the defense of women's legal and human rights to abortion could only by an act of “Satan himself.” As modern individuals who embrace our sexuality and our sexual health, we know that this rhetoric of faith is really a guise to take family planning out of our hands.

We cannot let these religious bullies bring their backward, anti-feminist hostility into our community. We cannot allow our family, neighbors and friends to be intimidated while seeking legitimate health services. We must rise to this provocation and say:

Stay out of our wombs! Stay out of our community!

This Saturday, April 16th will be the second-to-last day of 40 Days For Life's presence in San Francisco. Let's bid them farewell outside the Planned Parenthood at 1650 Valencia Street (at the intersection of Mission and Valencia), with a spirited counter-protest extravaganza, from noon to 6:00 p.m. Music and light snacks will be provided.
