Mark Steel is a London based comedian and author of the book: Vive la Revolution: A Stand-up History of the French Revolution. He has written for The Guardian and currently has a weekly column in the Independent and a lecture series on the BBC.

His other books include Reasons to be Cheerful and What’s Going On?

Opening music (Duo Pizzicato and jazz musician David Alt) at 7pm.

Comedy and politics at 8pm.

Mark will be available to sign books after his act.

DJ to follow comedy. Mingle, dance & talk politics. Drinks available for purchase at bar. Food for purchase next door.

Sliding Scale: $5 - $25. All Ages.

This event is a fundraiser for Haymarket Books and the Center for Economic Research and Social Change (CERSC). Proceeds will help get activists to CERSC’s conference in Chicago, Socialism 2011: Revolution in the Air. (SocialismConference.org)
