San Francisco Anti-War Protest -- March 19, 2011

Rally, march and signs.

According to the media, about 500 braved the cold and wet to rally in U.N. Plaza to protest our government's warmongering efforts at the expense of our own education, labor and infrastructure.

My own estimate is slightly over 1,000 at U.N. Plaza, with about 200-300 joining us along the march route.

The protest was smaller than desired, but that was understandable given the weather conditions. Our spirit was strong, if a bit soaked.

Another anti-war protest (different sponsor) is planned for April 10, starting at Dolores Park at noon. Hope more of us will be there!

Several protesters, gagged and wearing signs, marched around the Plaza to the beat of a slow, somber drum.

The last protester in The Silenced Parade represented Bradley Manning, who is currently imprisoned under vile conditions for his alleged role in leaking info to WikiLeaks.

We were restricted to the right side of Market Street. Still look pretty good though. Considering.

We joined the boycotters in front of the Westin St. Francis. As the protest drew to a close, we shouted a promise -- "We'll Be Back!!!"
