Expert says: At Chernobyl Level Now

"I think it is at Chernobyl level now. 100 times worse than the worst case we could have imagined a year ago," says Arnie Gundersen who was a nuclear industry executive for many years.

Older workers are being sent in to the plant because radiation exposure is significant.

Arnie Gunderson in CNN interview minutes ago: "They are working in hot, dark situation where there have been explosions. Suit up and do all that and maybe you can do 3 - 5 minutes of work. ...

I would have acknowledged earlier that the event was out of control. TEPCO did not tell enough info quick enough. I think it is at Chernobyl level now. 100 times worse than the worst case we could have imagined a year ago."
