Come for a great vegan Indian-style meal and enjoy listening to a summary of all of the health, environmental, ethical, and psychospiritual reasons for being vegan. In this interactive presentation, Shakti Marquis, author of "Vegan Paradise: A New Worldview to Save Our Bodies, Minds and Souls--And Life on Earth" will discuss not only the latest theories and facts regarding the benefits of choosing a vegan lifestyle, but relate them to the larger questions of the general attitude of our culture towards life, nature and animals. She presents the Vegan Paradise Paradigm, the idea that our planet was designed to be a place of peace between all living creatures, human and animal. In light of the current crises, a need for such a new philosophical and spiritual zeitgeists exist--one which we shall see has actually been taught by spiritual masters throughout time. Also, we will see in this workshop that when we turn our backs on animals, our mental and spiritual wholeness is affected. Related deep ecology exercises and a book-signing ($10.00 for the book, a special Longhaul price) will follow the dinner presentation. $7.00 donation requested for the meal to benefit the Longhaul.
