Camilo Mejia, the first U.S. veteran of the Iraq war to publicly refuse further service, will speak in Palo Alto as part of a program to mark the eighth anniversary of the United States' war of aggression in Iraq. Responding to Mejia's talk will be a panel including Karen Meredith, mother of 1Lt. Ken Ballard who was killed while serving in Iraq, Paul George, Director of Peninsula Peace and Justice Center; and Ben Daniel, Presbyterian minister and writer of faith-based social and political commentary.
