This year is the 43rd anniversary of the 1968 Memphis Sanitation Workers’ Strike. The heroic determination of low-paid Black workers transformed this labor dispute into a pivotal point in the civil rights and union movements. It brought Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to Memphis where he was assassinated for defending the right to union representation and an end to racist treatment on the job. This film inspires its viewers with the strength and resolve of ordinary people fighting injustice.
