Celebrate the people's victory and the ongoing struggle!
This sort of short-sighted crowing is insufferable. Calling the replacement of a president-for-life with the supreme military council and calling for elections is hardly a "victory" in any radical sense.
I think that forcing Mubarak out is a victory, but only a very limited and tentative one. It is a victory mainly in that it gives a psychological boost to the rebellions in Egypt and elsewhere, but will only be a real victory if the Egyptian working class and other oppressed sectors follow it up with militant struggles for both economic and political demands, and don't let the army consolidate its political power.

I gotta agree with Aaron Aarons. BTW I'm nervous . This is happening more and more . My partner and I even voted for him in the KPFA Board election . Am I becoming a Ultra Ultra leftist in my middle age ?
All joking aside he's right on this . It is a victory but a a limited one. It's understandable that people are dancing in the streets but if the same military that Mubarak came from is in still in charge then ?????
I used to scoff at Vanguardlists like the Sparts and the RCP who always go on and on and never shut up about the need for a Revoultionary party but i sure hope there are some secular Socialists in Egypt that are loudly saying this victory is only Step One and that the masses shouldn't go home !

Now that Iranians have hit the streets, I'm wondering will the stalinist hypocrites and all other "anti-imperialists" have to say.
They'll insist that the protesters in Iran are stooges of US/Zionist imperialism of course, and call for the strongest possible crackdown.
