From Chaos to Community -
Cephus Johnson, known as Uncle “Bobby” by his nephew Oscar Grant III, is a local man from Oakland who is carrying forth the dream of empowerment for our communities, as described by the ancient word Ubuntu, from southern Africa:
“Humanity to others; I am what I am because of who we all are”
By being a voice of justice for Oscar Grant III, he has helped inspire the community of Oakland and beyond to reach out for their dignity in the face of unrestricted violence used against the people by government agencies.
Sponsored by the “Students for a Democratic Society” of Napa Valley College (event page)
