Socialism,Egypt,International socialist organization,Laney,Oakland,California,Budget Cuts,Revolution,Trotsky,Socialist Worker,Working Class In Egypt and Tunisia, ordinary people are rising up for democracy and against dictators!

These uprisings show that it is possible for regular people to unite and fight together for a better world. But what kind of world do we ultimately need in order to solve widespread problems like poverty, racism, environmental destruction, unemployment, war and undemocratic governments?

As Socialists, we believe that these problems have their roots in the capitalist system. In order to get rid of these problems we think it is necessary for people to work together to build Socialism: a society based on real democracy, organized around human needs and wants, not the profits of big-business.

Join us for a presentation and discussion about both the revolution in Egypt, and what people are doing here to fight for a better world.
