Practicing a Love that is Daring and Difficult and Dangerous
One Day Conference: Love Warriors’ Convocation

In a time when love has been commercialized and privatized (Valentine’s Day), when the boundaries of who may love whom are so effectively policed, we need a movement of love warriors--hungry, broken people actively seeking to surrender to the Spirit of Love and Life (which goes by many names), and through that process, to depart radically from the ways of empire and set out on an alternative path of vulnerability, openness, generosity, and service.

This first annual gathering is our departure point. Together we will sing against imperially proscribed versions of reality, celebrate the Spirit of Life that cannot be contained in imperial systems, and dance toward a future that is not yet entirely discernable.

This year, we are giving special attention to the ways that we might heal from the addictions to safety, control, and ownership, along with internalized oppression and supremacy, that contribute to the perpetuation of an unjust criminal justice system and to police brutality.

Participants will learn about “love warrior training and ordination” and our “Recovery from the Dominant Culture program” and hear about our hopes to connect a network of “called groups” of love warriors who are nurturing each other’s inner lives while engaging in projects to serve, heal, and transform their communities.
