Leon Phat is starting early on the campaign trail. Join him as he does what Governor Jerry Brown needs to do: lead a workshop on taxation. California can't maintain programs without adjusting its tax policy, but a public that remains unsure and ignorant about principles of taxation can't effectively transform the conversation about taxes. The big boys will always win . . . unless the people participate in a Tax School.
SF Supervisorial candidate Leon Phat is commencing that Tax School this Saturday, and in a user-friendly way: via a walking tour through some of San Francisco's community benefit district neighborhoods.
The walk looks at modes of taxation for generating community revenue in real world applications. We'll see building and development patterns on genuine San Francisco ground . . . nothing theoretical about it . . . shaped by tax policy.
$20 on your own, but free if you bring a friend
