2000 Hours Of Direct Action At The Berkeley [Ohlone] People's Park [Muwekma] Treesit!

by Darin Bauer
As the University of California Berkeley's dormatory construction project encroachs upon Berkeley's [Ohlone] People's Park, or Muwekma Park, the UCB grounds people keep hacking away at the People's Park or Muwekma garden to increase police visibility and the harassment of the homeless. Meanwhile, we have 2000 hours of direct action at the Berkeley [Ohlone] People's Park [Muwekma Park] Treesit! An ongoing protest to defend the park.

Our friend Art got his truck towed while parked in the People's Park [Muwekma Park] driveway while he was building a new serving bench for Food Not Bombs. Officer Kazinski who made the arrest is the same officer who signed the warrant against Berkeley's Long Haul Anarchist Community Center and Information Shop not too long ago. We say the same **** circles in the wind as the wind changes.

Meanwhile;

2000 HOURS OF DIRECT ACTION AT THE BERKELEY [OHLONE] PEOPLE'S PARK [MUWEKMA] TREESIT!

In the future UCB will probably own everything from the University to Oakland, they already have a building in downtown Oakland, so it isn't really much of a premonition. George Beier has politically tried to repurpose People's Park in Berkeley [Muwekma Park a gift from the Ohlone and the great spirit] to a museum, a cafe, another soccer field, he tried many different options, Chris Worthington keeps shutting him down, although I don't have anything else nice to say about Mr. Worthington.

The People's Park [Muwekma] protesters refuse to speak with the media!

This is a Crazy Horse / Steven Bico tactic. The camera steals your spirit or, the media always changes the story.

I guess I'm a lucky photographer.

They want it known that they have brought fire to the tree sit at People's Park, [Muwekma...Park] and that the fire is brought about the old style, not by sulpher or flint and steal, just plain old wood, strength and patients. This is salient as it lends perseverence to the cause.

Zachary Running Wolf wants to make it known that he is a pipe carrier from the Native American tradition. He can create ceremony, he is an elder.

If you happen to be around Berkeley, go and support the tree sit there, or just say hi!
