Defend WikiLeaks, Support Bradley Manning. 15 Jan 11, SF photos

by Jeff Paterson, Courage to Resist
About 100 supporters of WikiLeaks and the accused WikiLeaks whistle-blower Army PFC Bradley Manning gathered at the TransAmerica building (across the street from the NY Times office) for "Media Intervention for Wikileaks". This was a part of a global day of action, with demonstrations in Australia, Canada, Europe, and across the US.

Since its release of about 2000 diplomatic cables (as of January 7th, 2011), Wikileaks has been subject to extraordinary pressures, seemingly at the behest of the US government. Amazon and EveryDNS have denied Wikileaks internet service and Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, and Bank of America have been prevented supporters from donating money to Wikileaks. This is despite the fact that Wikileaks has not even been charged with a crime.

Unfortunately, the situation has gotten even worse. The press has been spreading lies about Wikileaks. Mainstream media outlets do not appear to be doing even the most rudimentary fact-checking. The most blatant of these lies is the idea that Wikileaks has “indiscriminately dumped 250,000 cables on the internet”. This is flat-out false. A few news organizations, including NPR and InformationWeek, have corrected this mistake, and NPR has even offered an apology. By contrast, most news organizations ranging from the AP to the Wall Street Journal continue to print this falsehood.

We call upon all news organizations to correct previous articles and statements, to issue apologies to their readers, and to take steps to prevent this mistake from occurring in any future articles and shows.

Participants were provided with cable printouts and markers and encouraged to throw down their artistic abilities by adding a graphic representation of their favorite cable to the Cablegate Coloring Book.

I strongly support Freedom for Bradley Manning . But i also support the International Campaign calling for dropping the charges against Julian Assange . Why (except for it being mentioned in the RCP Youth group banner ) was there no mention of Assange's case ?
I hope that some activists haven't allowed some possible secondary differences to drive a wedge between the two obviously interlinked cases . In Santa Cruz on Jan. 8 Freedom for both brothers was included in that rally's demands .

This action also supported Julian Assange and wikileaks.

Both Manning and Assange are the real supporters of the anti-fascist united front that is comming into being globally. If we read the anti-fascist covenants to which the U.S. Constitution is signed on to, such as the United Nations Charter, the world court of the Hague, now updated to the International Criminal Court, the Geneva Conventions of war, Nuremberg Trials (1945-46) and the International War Crimes Tribunal (Bertrand Russell Style) we find that the road to liberation is set at the scrapping of the war machine and its manufactury with the new practice to be collective agree as democracy to settle disputes between countries. In the Nuremberg Trials chaired by U.S. Judge Jackson we can see that that treaty set down the international law that the planning and doing of aggressive war is the 'supreme international crime' on the planet earth, as it actuates all other crimes high, low, big, and small. He further says it is the supreme international crime whether Germany does it or the U.S.A. does it. The fact that the U.S. Imperialist regimes after 1945 have been avoiding and defeating these laws that by the U.S. Constitution are to be requarded as the supreme law of the land, shows the fact that now the planet is beginning to die from the anti-fascist laws being ignored and the legalization of the discredited axis military methods of 1) might makes right, 2) Unilateralism and Pre-emptive strikes holding in place pollution has occured.
