(note: This is the interview that had to be re-scheduled from last Friday because Prof. Chomsky was ill).
Join the conversation by calling in or by participating in chat! This event is free and open to everyone. No one at Wild Wild Left, including the host Diane Gee, will profit from this event in any way. In fact, Diane Gee and the community at wildwildleft.com is spending their own money to bring Prof. Chomsky to the people. And when I say "the people", I am not spouting a leftist cliché.
One of the reasons I think this interview is such a big deal is that by doing this interview, Prof. Chomsky is once again "walking the walk", so to speak. Not only has he agreed to be interviewed on WWL Radio by Diane Gee--she is a self-described "uneducated, underemployed, working-class (by the skin of my teeth) waitress who lives in a trailer"--but he has gone out of his way to do so.
Prof. Chomsky has accorded this interview on WWL Radio with Diane Gee the same level of respect, importance and courtesy as he would treat an interview with Naomi Klein or Amy Goodman.
The only difference is that Diane literally broadcasts WWL Radio each week after work from her kitchen table with her laptop.
This will not be your standard run-of-the-mill interview with Noam Chomsky, because it is being brought to you by the actual working class... and not our annointed spokespersons in the progressive/leftish media (and I say this with no ill will towards people like Amy Goodman whose work is, IMO, invaluable).
I hope to see you there.
(to indybay editorial collective: I assure you this will be the last time I post an ad for this interview--it has been confirmed and locked in for tomorrow, and Prof Chomsky is feeling much better this week. Thank you for your patience and for being so understanding!)
