11:00 am PRESS CONFERENCE in front of Old City Hall, 2134 MLK Jr. Way; 11:45 PROCESSION in Orange Jumpsuits To the Marine Recruiting Station, 64 Shattuck Square, followed by a RALLY, 12Noon-1 PM.
Mayor Bates is being invited to give a welcome;other invited speakers include former Senator Mike Gravel, Bob Meola (Peace & Justice Commission), Miguel Cavallin (Argentina torture survivor), Susan Harman (PDA), Adam Siebert (Courage to Resist), Toby Blome and Holly Harwood (Codepink Women for Peace), Daniel Ellsberg, and Max Anderson (Berkeley City Council).
The event will also generate support for the "Resolution to Resettle Cleared Guantanamo Detainees in Berkeley", being voted on in Feb. by the City Council. The Berkeley Peace & Justice Commission voted YES on the Resolution.
