Waqayñan means "Imaginary Road" in the Quechua language. Shot in a remote indigenous community in Bolivia, this beautiful 30 minute documentary is about the Tinku, a violent Quechua tradition having to do with self-sacrifice for Mother Earth. Through the film we see the tension between indigenous cultural tradition and evangelical Christianity. Waqayñan is innovative, thought provoking, and a window into the lives of people on the other side of the world.
