January 10th Statewide Day of Action outside Governor Brown’s offices for the new budget release! San Francisco press conference and rally, 3pm, State Building, 455 Golden Gate (Between Larkin & Polk)
In the last five years, Californians have suffered billions in spending cuts to vital health and human services programs, none of which have resolved the state’s endemic budget problems. Instead, these cuts have exacerbated the state’s fiscal crisis while at the same time magnifying the impacts on families already stricken by the worst economic recession in decades.
We can get California back on the road to recovery with a state budget that takes full advantage of the resources provided by our state’s health care and human services infrastructure, including
the ability to leverage billions in federal matching funds, create and maintain hundreds of thousands of public and private sectors jobs, stimulate local business activity and empower Californians from all walks of life to be productive members of society.
Join Health Access, Western Center on Law and Poverty, California Partnership, California Immigrant Policy Center, Parent Voices, California Alliance for Retired Americans (CARA), Community Resources for Independent Living, California Association of Food Banks Independent Living Services of Northern California and many others for this important press conference and rally to defend health and human services!
