Can problems like poverty and climate change be fixed through games? Visionary game designer Jane McGonigal thinks so. With 3 billion hours a week devoted to playing video and computer games and more than 174 million gamers in America, McGonigal explores how we can save the world through the power of gaming.

Drawing on positive psychology, cognitive science, and sociology, McGonigal is helping pioneer the fasting-growing genre of games that turns gameplay into socially positive outcomes. She has helped create dozens of games in more than 30 countries including Evoke, a game commissioned by the World Bank Institute.
