Stockton, California ~ The entire community is invited to join our Central Valley Kwanzaa Celebration.
The California Central Valley is "The Greatest Garden in the World" producing as much as 45% of the table food served throughout the United States.
Together, we will showcase a new era of equity and equal opportunity expanding our U.S. Agriculture exports, increasing global trade and commerce throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean Basin.
Ujamaa is a kiswahili word that trnaslates as "cooperative economics" a universal principle that we must utilize to continue growth and development of our "Greatest Garden in the World."
California Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association hosts our Ujamaa Ceremony with a keen eye toward sharing a broader perspective of our “California Grown” holiday, lifting up Dr. Maulana Karenga its creator.
Kwanzaa is rooted in and developed out of the ancient origins of African first-fruit harvest celebrations and the modern origins of the Black Freedom Movement, Kwanzaa teaches and cultivates cultural grounding and ethical principles and practices dedicated to the cooperative creation and sharing of good in the world.
We join the United Nations by creating the California Working Group ~ Year of People of African Descent with the aim toward strengthening California, regional and local cooperation for the benefit of people of African descent in relation to their full enjoyment of economic, cultural, social, civil and political rights, their participation and integration in all political, economic, social and cultural aspects of society, and the promotion of a greater knowledge of and respect for their diverse heritage and culture.
California remains firmly the #1 U.S. Agriculture State yet; today California Black Agriculture producers are less than 1/3 of 1% of all farmers in California.
A new generation of Black Agriculturalists are poised for explosive job creation, career opportunities and economic development utilizing historical traditions and modern appropriate technology to lead the world providing “Healthy Solutions” for people of African descent suffering from diet related disease globally.
We begin our 45th Season of Kwaznaa, International Year of People of African Descent, by addressing epidemic levels of violence, obesity and diabetes here in the “Greatest Garden of the World” the Central Valley in the Great State of California.
