MCAMO, will present a 2011 Black History Month Art Exhibit "History, Hertsory, My People". The Exhibit featuring the original portrait artwork of artist b jAXON.
"This body of work is reflective of a few of the many African-American/ Black, Men and Women which have made considerable contributions to this thing we call the Human Condition" –b jAXON.
Opening Feb 10th the exhibit runs through the 16th of the month. Held in the Council Chambers of Hercules City Hall located at 111 Civic Drive in Hercules 94547.
The 6 day event will host a variety of activities opening with an Artist Reception Meet and Greet, Media Photo Opportunity and A Hercules Chamber Mixer.
Other activities include; A possible music performance from a Local Bay Area Trio TBD. Performance's by the Grown Women Dance Collective. A Book Signing by Author L.L. Walton who penned "Please Don't Date Me"-100 Reasons Why. Video Screening, Documentary on "Black History". A presentation and prize award to BHM Student 2011 Essay Winner.
