Scott Wiener supports sit-lie. The reason I'm bringing him up is because of this. Remember those big Wiener banners on the building that Harvey's is in? The banners were on the Castro side and the 18th Street side of that building on the second floor level. I think those banners were put up there by the owner of the building (a Wiener supporter) who also owns Harvey's. Where was Wiener's victory celebration held? In Harvey's. Harvey Milk must be pissed off about now knowing that his name is being exploited to attract the tourists to a bar in Harvey's name where the owner of the bar does not share Harvey's progressive politics because Wiener's politics are far from the politics of Harvey Milk. Mandelman's politics are the closest to Harvey Milk's. Harvey Milk opposed sit-lie in his day.
I stopped eating at Harvey's when those Wiener banners went up. I was really disappointed to see them there. I think Harvey's deserve a sit-in on the sidewalk outside of their place.
