Date:
Friday, November 05, 2010
Time:
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Event Type:
Protest
Organizer/Author:
Chuck McNally
Location Details:
We will be meeting up on the NE corner of C St. and Fresno St. in Downtown Fresno to demand Justice for Oscar Grant and get the word out about his case and others whose lives have been stolen by law enforcement locally.

Here is some coverage from the last time we gathered at the corner for Oscar Grant over the summer.

In Fresno we will stand together to remember those, who like Oscar, had their lives taken by trigger happy cops; and demand that police be held accountable for their actions.

The BART police officer, J. Mehserle, who shot Oscar Grant in the back; will be sentenced. Family and community members will be gathering around the state, from L.A. to the Bay, to demand justice for Oscar Grant and that all killer cops be held accountable.

Regardless of how the judge sentences Mehserle on Friday, we know Mehserle is guilty of murdering Oscar and that the officer did not confuse his taser and his gun. Oscar Grant himself took a picture of Officer Mehserle pointing his taser at him moments before Mehserle pulled his gun from his right side, after twice pulling and holstering his taser on his left side, and shot Oscar point blank in the back - killing him and leaving Oscar's fiance without a future husband and Oscar's daughter without her daddy.
