You're invited to the Bay Area's 2010 IWW Organizer Training
The IWW's Organizer Training 101 is a hands-on two day intensive training where participants learn the basic building blocks of a successful organizing campaign. We cover all the steps of building your campaign from scratch to the point of going public with demands, also labor law, etc, with an emphasis on direct action and workers' power. It's recommended for new members to get them out there organizing with skills and confidence, as well as seasoned organizers, so that we cross pollinate our skills and experience.
It's a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, meet other organizers, and help build a militant and successful rank and file union movement. Plus you'll be fed breakfast and lunch, and we'll have snacks and coffee on hand. We're working on having child care available too. (Let us know if that's something that would help you out!)
It's Saturday and Sunday, November 13th and 14th at the Neibyl-Proctor library in Oakland. The training will start at 9:30 am both days and end around 5. To cover costs, we're asking $10 from IWW members and $20 from non-members. That includes the training, meals and snacks for the whole weekend. No one will be turned away if they can't donate that much. Just donate what you can.
If you plan to attend, please register here ( http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=166366193373728 ), or call (415) 789-6377.
