With Nov 5th approaching, ILWU brings community together for Oscar Grant

by Tangle (tanglealso [at] gmail.com)
Despite torrential rain, on Oct 23rd the ILWU, Oakland teachers and the community gathered at Frank Ogawa Plaza to protest the killing of Oscar Grant, father of Tatiana and partner of Sophina Mesa, by former BART Transit officer Johannes Mehserle. Mehserle is set to be sentenced for his involuntary manslaughter conviction on Nov 5th, 2010.

The Bay Area remains committed to justice for victims of police violence, despite Mesherle's despicable conviction of the least possible charge he can be convicted with.
