NO on Prop 23
Educate the Swing Voters
Just a couple of weeks until election day, but the LA times and the PPIC polls say that CA is split on Prop. 23--with a 20% swing vote. Although things may seem rather pro-environment around here, Tea Baggers and other conservative groups around the state are working hard to motivate conservatives to back Prop. 23. http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_16221401?nclick_check=1
The battle for our climate law is quite possibly the single most important fight in the environmental world right now. If we lose the Global Warming Solutions Act in CA, we significantly lower our chances of anything happening at the federal level. So, our best bet for keeping CA and the country on track to beat Global Warming is to ensure that there is a massive voter turn out from the progressives this election. In coordination with state-wide efforts, we plan to contact over 1,000,000 voters before the election.
It's a pretty big goal--so we need a lot of help to reach it. Here's the schedule for phone banking out of our office at 1701 4th street (at 4th and G) in San Rafael (phones provided):
Sunday, 10/24 Between 3:00-9:00pm. RSVP here
Any time commitment is welcome. Phones, scripts, and fact sheets are provided.
Help us CRUSH Prop. 23.
