El/La Para TransLatinas & One Struggle One Fight invite you to a screening & discussion of the documentary film "Paris is Burning".
This provocative film explores issues of gender, racism, homophobia and AIDS in New York City in the 1980s, & won the Grand Jury Prize for documentaries at the 1991 Sundance Film Festival. Afterwards, stay for a discussion of the film, how these issues still affect all our communities in 2010, & ways we can join together to organize for positive change.
Admission is free, & the event is wheelchair accessible. Spanish translation is provided.
