City Slicker Farms Backyard Garden Mentor Orientation

The City Slicker Farms Backyard Garden Program assists low-income West Oakland residents who lack access to healthy foods by building backyard planter box vegetable gardens. We provide each participant with four follow-up visits per year with technical assistance, seedlings and supplies.

Garden mentors are matched with one or more families to provide follow-up assistance so the participants can successfully grow and prepare their own organic produce.

Come learn about the program and how to be a garden mentor at our greenhouse located at the Ralph Bunche School in West Oakland.
