Protest at Meg Whitman/Condi Rice Event

by J.R.
Photos from the event of September 21, 2010 in Burlingame. Whitman reportedly earned $350,000 at this fundraiser. Protesters against the war called out Condoleezza Rice as a war criminal, and the pro-labor crowd cursed Meg for many good reasons.

Voice at Work (AFL-CIO) and other unions were in front of the Hyatt Regency on Sept. 21. Nurses, teachers, heavy equipment operators, and healthcare workers, were among the crowd. A group called Billionaires for Wealthcare (some of their signs read "Oil Billionaires for Meg") created a bit of a ruckus when they were seen standing by a limo. Some of the protesters mistook them for genuine Republicans, until they saw their campy signs, including "Meg loves Polluters".
