Where: 3124 Shattuck Ave. Berkeley CA. 94705
tele - (510) 540-0751
When: Sunday Sept 19th, 7-9 PM
What:
We're exited to be hosting a benefit show at the historical Long Haul infoshop in Berkley. There will be live music, awesome food from food not bombs and a presentation about resistance to old growth logging in Oregon. Last summer we blockaded a road in the Elliott State Forest to disrupt what we considered an illegal and immoral logging operation on publicly owned old growth forest. 27 people were arrested and after a year of court, we happy to be back in the game, but in need of financial support. Some people chose to take the case to trial and got it dismissed but most of took plea deals. This resulted in most charges being dropped but left most of us in debt to the state 1000 dollars on top of joint restitution.
Come down to the Long Haul on Sunday, the 19th and have fun supporting your local forest defenders!
Donations appreciated, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
We will also be discussing current struggles against old growth logging and clear-cutting and ways you can help.
