The public is invited to 10/10/10, A Day of Peace, Because We Care, a peace rally sponsored by I AM PEACE, Inc., and Pacers for Peace Leo Club. The rally will take place on Oct. 10, 2010 on the west steps of the State Capitol, located on 10th Street between L and N in downtown Sacramento.
“This invitation is extended to those who want to make a declaration and commitment to world peace, diversity and unity,” said Michael Schley, director of I AM PEACE. “It is a pro-peace day, not an anti-anything day. All pro-peace and green organizations are encouraged to attend.”
The rally, featuring speakers, entertainment, and organizational booths, will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until dusk.
Sponsors plan to announce details about a kick-off fundraiser for the first phase of the recently approved International Peace Park at the Grant High School, Twin Rivers Unified School District, Pacers for Peace park installation. They believe this is the first international peace park in the world to be conceived of by students and approval has been granted to install the first phase.
