Community Meeting: HEALTH CARE FOR IMMIGRANTS, HEALTH CARE FOR ALL Bring the whole family and join the fight for a quality, cost-effective health care system that includes everyone and leaves nobody out. This fall the Mad As Hell Doctors (MAHD) will follow up on their landmark 2009 National Tour across the United States with a similar tour through California. MAHD is a group of activist physicians and nurses, patient advocates and other health care providers who are mad because our broken health care system prevents them from delivering quality care to the people who need it. MAHD will take part in 26 rallies and town halls from Arcata on September 23 to the capitol in Sacramento on October 12. They will arrive in San Jose on September 26. MAHD advocates for a national Single Payer, Improved Medicare-for-all health care system, where everyone is covered, co-pays and deductibles eliminated, and health care decisions are left to patients and their doctors, not Wall Street profiteers. In the San Jose program the MAHD and local advocates will address the issue of truly affordable health care for everyone, including immigrants, through enactment of California Senate Bill 810. AMSA students of San Jose City College and Evergreen College, the diverse organizations of the County Single Payer Coalition, including SIREN Services Immigrant Rights and Education Network are participating in this event but we need all of your help to bring out a big crowd to help win this important basic human right! Please tell your friends, families, and all of your family's medical professionals about this great opportunity to learn the facts about single payer health care. Thank you.
