Santa Cruz Solidarity is a network of working people who are tired of being mistreated and taken advantage of by greedy bosses and landlords. We take collective action to solve individual problems such as stolen security deposits and unpaid overtime wages- we no longer have to face these issues alone! Come learn about ways that you can take action to get what you need!
We are looking forward to kicking off our work with an event coming up on September 14th at the Louden Nelson Community Center, at 6:30 pm. We will be hosting speakers from nearby areas who will share their experiences organizing around tenant's and worker's issues, show a few short films, and have a table of useful resources and reading for anyone. Get inspired to take action and get involved!
We will soon be holding weekly meetings that are open to all to attend. If you want to talk to us about problem you're having, subscribe to our email announcement and action list, or get involved in organizing, please come to a meeting, or contact us at:

or,
Leave a message on the SC Solidarity voicemail: 831-216-6321.

Props y'all.
It sounds like the main opposition to the Residential Rental Inspection Program is coming from landlords. This is an invasion of privacy which should not be tolerated.
"On August 3, 2010 the City Council introduced, for first reading, the ordinance creating the City of Santa Cruz Residential Rental Inspection and Maintenance Program. The second reading of the ordinance will occur on September 7, 2010 and the ordinance will become effective 30 days later. The Program will not begin until January 2011."
What is the position of Santa Cruz Solidarity on this?
