Saturday July 24 9 AM San Francisco Supervisorial Walking Tour of The Commons
Join SF Supervisorial candidate Leon Phat on a FREE walking tour of downtown San Francisco that identifies and illustrates the quantum policy change he proposes for San Francisco. Phat identifies geography as the commons, and the commons as the great source of public revenue.
Phat argues that public infrastructure and community enterprise and ambiance are the basis of locational values, and that locational values being generated by the community, those values belong to community. Parking meter revenue is just one example of land values being retained by the community. Phat wants parking meter revenue to stay in the neighborhoods in which they are generated.
The walking tour explores much of the social movement history of San Francisco, viewed through the lens of the commons. It departs from the American Youth Hostel at 312 Mason Street, at 9 AM Saturday morning, July 24, and runs until about Noon.
The Walk is FREE, but donations to the Phat campaign are welcome.
