These cops literally love to add insult to injury! To hold their rally at a time like this just goes to show you the mentality of the police. They don't care who's feelings they hurt. THEY DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT US!
This is an Emergency Action meant to steal the headlines away from Mehserle supporters and supporters of the fascist police. We all know what the PIG reaction as well as the media and courts reaction would have been had it been Johannes Mehserle 6 ft under rather than Oscar Grant III. The nation would be in a state of mourning no different from the 4 officers gunned down by Lavel Mixon. Where is the American Institutions bleeding heart for people like Oscar who get murdered by cops? Where is the American institutions bleeding heart for those who are not in a position of authority like the police or say a Wall St. Fat Cat Banker or a CEO of some slave driving mega corporation? We live in a society run by greedy business mobsters in white collar uniforms and the only way to sustain their operation of exploitation is to shove it down our throats at the barrel of a gun. THAT'S WHY WE LIVE IN A MILITARIZED POLICE STATE! The cops are the real outside agitators the media doesn't want you to know. Oscar Grant wasn't even from Oakland. He was from Hayward and many of his friends who came to protest in Oakland were from all over. This police state issue is not limited to the OPD. It is a problem that exists everywhere from Oakland to Athens spanning the entire world to protect an agenda you might have heard of called capitalism. They won't connect those 2 dots on the nightly news and that is also why we resist. The media is not free. The media speaks for the police and excused the system for all it's wrong doing and we sit back and take it. FOR WHAT? What is so rewarding about sitting back and doing nothing. More people are going to die at teh hands of the police as a result of our inaction. The Bay Area is in desperate need of a strong out spoken revolutionary and anti-authoritarian movement that answers to no one and does not ask permission from the state to protest against the state.
Who are the real outside agitators when the Oakland police don't even live in Oakland them selves. That right there makes where we are from more irrelevant.
Where we come from isn't even an argument. It holds no water. It makes no sense. Say it tell you're blue in the face. We're not staying home just because you told us to.
The media does not value anybody who dies unless they are in some sort of position of power/authority over everyone. The media has never been on our side and never will be on our side. The only people that do matter to them are the higher ups in authority, business and politics and we are nothing to them and so we have no voice so you have to come out and show strength.
If you think what happened that New Years Night was definitely wrong, then you need to come out and show your support not only for Oscar Grant but others like Rodney King, Abner, Louima, Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, Johnny Gammage, Patrick Dorismond, Ousmane Zongo, Randolph Evans, Nathaniel Levi Gaines, Jimmie Lee Jackson, Terrance Shurn, Lillie Belle Allen and thousands of others who's names didn't make it to the list. The longer we wait, the bigger that list grows. Think about it.
Divided we are no one but united we can be something for once! May we never forget what landed Johannes Mehserle in jail one week after Oscar Grants murder.
