Let's Move! Our Future, Our Food, and Our Health."

Oakland, CA (July 14, 2010) Hand to Hand Marketing Black Expo and Healthy Solutions hosts the Black Agriculture Summit 2010 at the Elihu Harris California State Building Auditorium featuring a free community forum toward creating a National Black Agriculture Action Agenda.

This will be the first event of this kind in Oakland, California where obesity, chronic diseases, and poverty are among highest in the state. The event will focus on healthy eating, nutrition, exercise, food and agriculture, while raising awareness about the renaissance of Black Farmers in America.

"Our communities need more resources that teach and help our community members build upon helping themselves live healthier lives. We look for this Black Agriculture Summit to be another stepping stone to empower our communities" says Tanikka Cunningham, Executive Director of Healthy Solutions.

The basic idea of this Black Expo Weekend is to "give practical and hands on tools that will help community members live healthier lives now, while celebrating the history of food in the Black Community" says Cunningham.

The Black Agriculture Summit theme this year will be "Let's Move! Our Future, Our Food, and Our Health and will feature:

• Introduction to our National Model, Healthy Solutions Produce Cooperative
• Let's Move! Toolkit for Community and Faith Based Organizations
• Cooking demonstrations and food tastings
• and other activities associated with eating healthy and exercise.

The USDA and California Farm Service Agency are confirmed participants in the event as well as various local and national organizations. The Festival will feature The Ultimate Salad Competition with the flow like an "Iron Chef" competition for youth, who will build what they think is the Ultimate Salad from fresh fruits and vegetables. The Ultimate Salad Competition will have several judges including the Director in the Center for Partnerships with Health and Human Services.
