Prayer Circle For The Children
2 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010
Children of Many Colors Native American Powwow
Moorpark College
7075 Campus Road, Moorpark, CA 93021
Children of all ages and all nations are welcomed to join Margaret Moran and Alan Salazar of the Chumash Nation in a special prayer circle for our children, taking place in the dance arena at 2 p.m.
In the Native American way of thinking, we must look seven generations to the future when we contemplate our actions. The generation of children here with us now need our help, support and guidance more than ever.
What kind of world will we leave our children? Our great, great, great grandchildren? The seven generations yet unborn?
Join us as we pray together in one voice for the welfare of our children. All children (and their parents) are welcome. You do not need to have Native American heritage to be a part of this prayer circle.
The prayer circle is hosted by Redbird, a non profit Native American and environmental organization based in Simi Valley, California as part of the Children of Many Colors Native American Powwow. The powwow is a family event. Everyone is welcome to attend. Redbird suggests a $2.00 per vehicle donation to help offset the cost of the powwow. There is no admission fee.
