Photos from Rage-Out in Palo Alto
Within one hour of the Mehserle verdict announcement, the Raging Grannies headed to Lytton Plaza in downtown Palo Alto where they joined people gathered who were speaking their minds. At 5pm the Grannies sang a song they wrote for justice for Oscar Grant and were photographed with other demonstrators by corporate media. People from the plaza joined the Grannies at the intersection of University and Emerson bringing up the volume on the Rage-Out for Justice. The corner was flooded with rush hour traffic and people in passing cars looked shocked to learn the verdict, as they read the signs that the protesters held on high.
Protest signs included:
Oscar Grant Killer Got Involuntary Manslaughter--NOT Justice
We Are All Oscar Grant
No Tasers No Guns
