Oscar Grant III was executed by BART officer Johannes Mehserle on Jan 1, 2009 at the Fruitvale station just outside of Oakland. Due to the massive action in the streets by the people of Oakland, Mehserle was arrested and became the first officer in California to be charged with murder committed on the job. The trial is coming to a close and the verdict will be announced in the coming days.
This is a CALL OUT for a Yuppie Bloc! Don't allow the police and NGOs to target you for being dressed in any other manner (which they will). Come dressed in your chic-est yuppie/tourist attire and take your anger and fury over our police state into the streets!
What to wear?
Oh the eternal question, what to wear for a night out on the town? Be sure your attire is practical (you may be running!), and nondescript - don't go for bright colors, you certainly don't want to stick out amongst your peer group as that is NOT the yuppie way! Hats, wigs, sunglasses, false mustaches, even a second layer underneath your clothing in case you feel the need to make a costume change to impress the party later in the night.

Why Yuppie Bloc?
The "news" media, police, NGOs and the Oakland City government, amidst their lies to the public, have made it quite glaringly clear that they will be on the wo/man hunt for a particular "type" of protester, and have made a call out for snitches to help them with this task. Well, lets make it tough for 'em! Dress like a yuppie/tourist for the first annual Oakland Yuppie Bloc Against Police Brutality!
This is OUR town, let's dress to impress!
*Note, no "blocking up" need take place.
