Justice For Oscar Grant! Fresno Celebration/Protest on day of Mehserle verdict

by fbb
On the day of the verdict we invite all community members to join us at Fresno & C to either celebrate justice with at least a 2nd degree murder charge or we protest that a white cop can legally kill an unarmed black man in front of a hundred people.

Oscar Grant III was executed by BART officer Johannes Mehserle on Jan 1, 2009 at the Fruitvale station just outside of Oakland. Due to the massive action in the streets of the people, Mehserle was arrested and became the first officer ever charged with a murder they committed on the job. His verdict will be coming out any day now. If he gets anything less than 2nd degree murder then there has been no justice. If he gets off then there is precedent set that a white officer can murder a black man in cold blood in front of a hundred people and get away with it.
Join the Brown Berets at 6pm the day the verdict comes out at the corner of Fresno & C where we will either celebrate justice being served or we will protest the utter lack of it in the judicial system and society.
Remember, Oscar Grants execution was nothing new or out of the ordinary, it just got caught on dozens of cameras and cell phones.

the latest reports say the verdict will most likely come out tomorrow.

Apparently, the jury has stopped deliberating for the day and wont release a verdict today. Hopefully tomorrow.
