Dwayne Jones resigns from Communities of Opportunity dividing the Bayview community.

by Francisco Da Costa
Dwayne Jones resigned as the head of Communities of Opportunity a dubious organization that has divided the Bayview Hunters Point and beyond Candlestick Point. Leaving a trial of distrust and confusion. Now, suddenly the prophet of doom has proclaimed through his cronies - the community is in charge of the future. How can this be - and only in San Francisco? This is the 66 million dollar question!

Dwayne Jones the Director of Communities of Opportunity is no more - is has resigned.

Paradoxically, at about the same time the Director of Young Community Developers also was forced to resign. Can there be a remote or direct connection - that these two incidents happened quick and surprised the community at large - leaving a void and creating more confusion.

I have seen Dwayne Jones with intent decimate the community - while the authorities that be have taken the innocent, ignorant community for a ride.

Most importantly the impotent San Francisco, Board of Supervisors who have seen millions of dollars wasted by Communities of Opportunity (COO) - most of it private donations - meant to serve the poor but spent on ploys and machination mostly controlled from Room 200 at City Hall.

There was an expose in the San Francisco Chronicle about Communities of Opportunity. People read the article but made nothing of it - because simply put it was about " those folks that live in the Bayview Hunters Point".

Really, what happens to "these folks" does not matter to the rest of the City and County of San Francisco. It has been that way for years.

But, think about this - using the plight of the poor to collect millions of dollars from corporations and rich donors - and then funneling the money - towards the Mayor fake conferences and other ploys that were mostly dubious in nature.

Recently, Communities of Opportunity used some members of Communities of Opportunity to collect money from the Census 2010 - Stimulus money that other could have used, wisely - but, knowing Dwayne Jones and his cronies - they pocketed a lot and made use of the tax payers - to further their evil cause.

Communities of Opportunity (COO) has divided the Hunters Point Bayview Community and beyond the poor folks living in the Candlestick area.

Folks mostly in Public Housing were given stipends and little money - to prop them to conduct surveys, plant trees, sweep streets, some minimum wage jobs - and have meetings to create division in the community.

Many were bused to City Hall to talk about jobs, parks, and housing. These folks have no clue what they are talking about because they have no idea about the "process". For example nothing much has been decided in concrete about Alice Griffith. However, Dwayne Jones promised the folks from Alice Griffith they would all get new housing. But when? In the year 2018?

Dwayne Jones has resigned and those holding the fort have no clue what exactly is going to happen. But, something will happen - and mostly probably what that "is" will be controlled by Dwayne Jones remote control.

It could be a prefabricated building that Lennar wants installed on Parcel A - and who do you think will be behind this ploy? Of course Dwayne Jones.

You read the Director of Young Community Developers was forced to resign - why?. The reason is simple to make room for some one else who will do what the demons have in store and the vulnerable have no idea, about. The vulnerable are controlled, led, and mostly importantly - deceived. The community has been decimated.

Communities of Opportunity (COO) is synonymous with division and has nothing what so ever in common with any good and less with the community and empowering anyone.

No one can be empowered who is ignorant and not educated on issues. More, fundamentally not rooted in decency, standards that uplift, in spirituality that is the key to planting a good seed, nurturing a tree, and finally bearing good fruit.

Our Black leaders are blinded, and there is really no one to lead - because most of them are caught in the net of corruption. Bought - lock, stock and barrel. Others, are busy fabricating "conspiracy" theories and have run out of them - and now are empty barrels making loud noises.

The Black community is now only 18% of the community and dwindling in the Bayview. The Asians are around 35% and climbing. The Latinos about 25% of the Bayview population and on the increase. The Whites about 20% and floating.

Gentrification has arrived and those looking for solutions are confused with no backing and Black folks mostly - scrambling for a few, stale, bread crumbs.

The Black leaders have failed and in failing miserably have led the way to Gentrification.

First there was the Unfinished Agenda that was shelved. Then, came the fake Out Migration document about the plight of the Blacks and it was all about talk and no walk.

Today, the sell outs those that have been paid - are groping in the dark and their days numbered - the paradox, all of them are Black and should be ashamed of themselves. Leading the pack Dwayne Jones - not all is over with this man - look out for him and his evil ploys.

Mayor Gavin Newsom should be ashamed of himself - he personally has used Dwayne Jones to divide the community. Unemployment is about 40% in the Bayview and most of it - Black women and men that are groping in the dark.

Most of them live in public housing - meant to be interim housing but now the permanent abode of a desperate Black population, that - no one will give opportunities. All this when we have a Black President in the White House - Barrack Hussein Obama! Go figure.

I have fought for justice and the improvement of District 10 for the last 20 years. Some leaders have joined me in the fray with lesser motives and feigned on the way. One of two have tried to keep up and in recent months - faded away.

Sophie Maxwell the Mother of Division has termed out - she is the District 10 Supervisor. Over 30 candidates are vying for her position. One of two have some credibility - most are there for some "prize" on the horizon and the path to it - full of mirages.

Our youth have not been handed the torch and less taught about issues and the process of good government and sound character.

Many are street savvy and others confused. Some continue to make some vague attempt but are not offered opportunity.

The division created by folks like Dwayne Jones has created hatred, couple that with hunger, lack of a job, and living in filthy conditions - and you have a recipe made for disaster - that is the creation and legacy of Dwayne Jones and his ploys in a nut shell.

Wake up San Francisco. Wake up SF Board of Supervisors. Wake up the Department of Justice.
Wake up an entity that has the better interests of the community at large.
