Please vote NO on Methyl Iodide for use on strawberries and other crops.
Methyl Iodide is a carcinogen, neurotoxin, disruptor of thyroid function, may cause brain damage, miscarriage, cancer and damage fetal development. Please do not fumigate our atmosphere and environment with dangerous, toxic chemicals.
Scientists have stated that Methyl Iodide would have a "significant adverse impact on public health." The majority of schools in the Pajaro Valley are near fields where this toxin would be used. Adding to our community’s health care problem, would become an economic burden to the government.
Stop banks and insurance companies from requiring the use of any fumigant, before they agree to loan funds or insure crops.
