July 2 Friday 6:30 pm San Francisco Drinks in Common: The Commons
Dear Commoneers,
We've got the biggest treat yet at Drinks in Common, Friday, July 2, 7 pm at Rancho Parnassus, 132 6th Street in San Francisco.
Alanna Hartzok, author (The Earth Belongs to Everyone) and teacher, will talk On The Commons. The backdrop to her remarks are the recent notice of a trillion dollars in minerals value in Afghanistan and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill fiasco. If using natural resource value to fund public infrastructure is good for Afghanistan, it should be good for the USA. And if the US recouped as much of its oil value as Norway does, there'd be plenty of funds for top-flight spill prevention . . . plus plenty of money for education and solar power research and development.
Hartzok writes and speaks with facts, figures, and panache. Don't miss her, and bring two friends!
Her book will be for sale.

See you July 2!
