Benefit for Oscar Grant's Mother!

I have a sincere non Hostile question re the need for this benefit .
Wasn't there a large settlement of a civil suit re Oscar Grant's murder ?
Wasn't all his family included in that ?
(Once again I support this benefit . But I am wondering why the neccesity in view of the above . )

My heart goes out to YOU, Oscar's mother, Mrs. Grant, in love and understanding and compassion for all that YOU have loss through a senseless act of violence. I, Cheri Grant Harper have loss a child; not in the manner that you did, but loss is loss and it hurts like hell. My middle sister Roselyn Grant Miller just loss her firstborn daughter to texting and driving and like I said loss is loss and now it is upon OUR baby sister, Lesley Grant of London Street, who is joining other artists to bring her talents to the stage in an effort to lift, edify and validate all that YOU feel...all that WE feel as mothers, sisters, Christians and humans to say to you, for all of us (GRANTS- NC & SC) from the bottom of our hearts to the uplifting of your spirit-Right is right and wrong is wrong and the ones who have always claimed to be the enforcers of right don't get an "out", a "technicality" OR an "excuse" for not "protecting and serving" all the citizens which is their sworn duty. God will handle this, you stand in it- claim it and be stronger than you want to be or have ever been. The court system is a brutal one- I have first hand knowledge of this, but I say to you my sister-God can do more than you could ever wish. The human in us wants justice, we want a do-over, hell we want our child back-yes ma'am I understand but God will take care of this situation. While feeling like Job you got to have the patiences of Job and you will be brought through the other side. I promise! I love you for free Suga'!
