Video of Interviews at Sunday's Successful Picket of Israeli Zim Lines Ship
Labor and community activists staged a successful picket of an Israeli ship attempting to unload goods at berth 57 on the Oakland California docks on June 20, 2010. ILWU workers honored the picket line and refused to unload the ship. This action, ; catalyzed by labor activist, Steve Zeltzer, http://laborfest.org
was staged to protest Israel's recent murderous attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla.
This picket action mirrored an action taken back in the 1980's at the same location, that led to the end of South Africa's apartheid system.
In this video, camerman, John Parulis and Steve Zeltzer, interview labor activists, organizers, Palestinians , international activists and others.
The event was a first in the struggle of human and worker rights movements in the US to bring pressure on Israel for its illegal occupation of Palestine and murderous attack on the recent Gaza Freedom Flotilla.
The ILWU has taken courageous stands when it matters most.
