Workforce is San Francisco - $34.4 Billion in projects passing through our backyard.
During the past 5 years, Billions of dollars worth of construction has NOT benefited San Franciscans.We get workers coming from all over and stealing jobs that journey men and other well qualified women and men living and paying taxes in San Francisco - could have benefited from. Now, we are poised for a narrow window of opportunity - billions of dollars linked to the TransBay Project, Central Sub-way, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) both waste and clean water projects, and more. We should have had a vision and prepared ourselves for this day - but, sadly we are fast asleep and the train has left the station.
San Francisco the City that knows - has lost it - all because corruption has entered into play and those that are leaders - are making deals behind the scenes - giving some key folks mostly politicians - the power to wheel and deal.
In the next 7 years we will have more then $40 billion in projects - passing through our back yard. This City and County of San Francisco does not have a Blue Print. Why? Because of very poor leadership and less a vision that our past leaders that built Hetch Hetchy and other major projects - had.
How can we go to war - if we do not have the knowledge and have a good idea about the terrain? How can we attempt to provide services when we have no clue about our Workforce? How can we attempt to improve Quality of Life issues when we permit - folks living outside San Francisco come into our living rooms and without our permission - rearrange our furniture, and control our destiny?
It is time our City and County of San Francisco warn our UNIONS - all of them the good ones and the bad ones that they have been hoodwinking us for years. The time for the Project Labor Agreements - full of holes and favoring certain segments of the population - should be a thing of the past.
Let these fools try to force us to take this City and County to Court - and you will notice they will fail because the times have changed - and most UNIONS and their leadership are so primitive and not forward thinking that they are lost in the CESSPOOL of their own making. UNIONS have brought it on themselves. Often times favoring Friends, Brothers, In laws - as one of my good friend - says - FBI.
This nonsense must stop. Once UNIONS fought for what was right and many laid their lives so that millions of workers in the United States of America could benefit. Then, corrupt UNION leaders,over the years, took control of dues and treated their members like dirt. This nonsense has led in the decline of UNION memberships and dues.
Gone are the days when UNION leaders stood tall and articulated. Today, we have skunks that beg all the time and make a fool of themselves. Pay attention to the ones that come to City Hall - half drunk and spew diatribe un-becoming of any UNION leader. The others all UNION that back LENNAR, a Rogue Developer that has screwed workers all over the Nation.
In recent years corrupt UNION leaders and the SF Labor Council has sided with corrupt and evil Corporation like LENNAR - making deals with ACORN ( long shut down by the Federal Government on corrupt charges), the San Francisco Organizing Project and of course the SF Labor Council - that has no clue and if it does - has failed to recognize that we cannot just side with any and every entity - without weighing all sides of the equation.
UNIONS and SF Labor Council should have set in motion Apprentice Programs and lined up workers for the impending BILLIONS of dollars of projects linked with the infrastructure and development of the City and County of San Francisco - then years ago - we not five.
But how can these fools that have no sight - see the future when they cannot see their own noses?
The UNIONS have been fast asleep at the helm, now and then we hear them speak - mostly nonsense at protests. Few can articulate mostly because they are NOT educated on issues.
They leaders of the UNION gather the UNION members and lead them like sheep and make them say things - that make no sense. All of us want good jobs - but someone must plan for these jobs - and of course no one wants to work for a couple of months and then have nothing to do for years and months on end.
We saw this with the $700 million Third Street Lightrail. We saw this with 555 Washington St and we will see it when the Lennar Project comes before the San Francisco Board of Supervisor - come June 3, 2010.
Sadly, that is the picture of our Workforce in San Francisco. We have thousands of skilled workers that have not worked for years. Our Mayor and the SF Labor Council and the SF Trades keep harping that they will create jobs, and tout the fake Project Labor Agreements - that are a detriment to all concerned in San Francisco. We have a viable alternative - and we will not release the plan - unless we have the right folks on the table, with the right attitude, full of accountability and transparency.
San Franciscans must step up and the first thing we want is LEADERSHIP that lives in San Francisco.
We do not want folks that are planning for the future of our Workforce and do not have a stake in San Francisco. Why? They live outside San Francisco and use our City just to make their living. All they are interested is in their pay check.
Millions of dollars have been wasted in training. Why? Half the money and more has been spent on administrative and management positions and less on qualified training.
There is this notion that if you invested in poor entry level jobs - all will be well. Who is their right mind has approved such a Blue Print. A Blue Print such as being operated by certain Workforce endorsed by corrupt planners, politicians such as Sophie Maxwell in San Francisco - is doomed for failure.
In these economic times no Developer will take a risk and HIRE a GLUT of entry level jobs - and think by doing so, make the City and County of San Francisco Workforce programs - feel good. The Developers spend millions on permits and other fees - even before he starts his or her project. Those Managing Workforce have no CLUE about these fees and other basic costs. Why? Because these folks that Manage Workforce are NOT educated on issues. Less, have no intention to serve the best interests of the community.
I saw this clearly with the Apartment Investment Management Company (AIMCO) that has yet to pay Mr. Ruben Santana for his completed work. I suppose CityBuild knows this and if does not must bear responsibility for this evil deed. I suppose SF Redevelopment Agency knows this - and does not hide this EVIL deed. Mr. Ruben Santana must be compensated and AIMCO put on notice.
Parallel to the Workforce you have the Pacific Heights Mafia - Consultants with Gold and other such names - former Mayors and wheelers and dealers - that endorse GENTRIFICATION and other evil ploys and machinations - that those managing Workforce in San Francisco - have no clue about.
The ONE STOP centers bring people in and out - and use fake statistics so that the Managers can say they are doing something. Well, they are doing something - the something is fleecing the tax payer. Millions of dollars have been wasted on programs that do not provide CAREER jobs.
You have leaders that do not know the way, show the way, or have any clue where they going to go the way.
I have gone incognito and checked these fools - they are pathetic and something must be done - on an EMERGENCY basis - before there is a REVOLT - much like the protests and bad blood that is spilling before the SF Board of Supervisors - lined to Racial Tensions.
Those who have been pussy footing with the on going drab Workforce programs - making false promises, millions of dollars are being forked out by forcing City Departments to shell them out - without a Blue Print that has been proved - worthwhile. if not clueless.
In all the years the millions have been spent - we have no inventory of San Franciscans and the work skills they have.
We have no list of current skilled workers - so that we can entice them to get re-trained with their on going skills and put them to work - in emerging newer technical jobs.
The City and County of San Francisco is a joke - and those that think they can fool all the people all the time - must surely not think - that an AUDIT will expose their asses - and they should be made to pay for all the harm they have caused to San Francisco and good tax payers.
To top it all - Stimulus Money is used to give - temporary jobs and with minimum pay. In some City Department - City workers that were permanent have been fired and temporary workers - linked to the Stimulus Plan have been hired. This is wrong - it fact it is plain - EVIL.
You ask these guys - if they have a Business Plan and they look at you - with a blank stare. This is our City and County of San Francisco that has a $6.8 billion dollar budget.
Our Mayor spends hours on Television mostly Channel 26 and 78 - touting this and that - mostly hot air. The minute he leaves Room 200 at City Hall - the folks that are now enjoying themselves and cheating the constituents - PUSSY FOOTING around - we flee and there will be a VOID.
Wake up San Francisco we not not need to do business as usual. We do not need former folks that worked for the failed Private Industry Council (PIC) anywhere near San Franciscans. Do not force me to name them and write about them.
We should have nothing much to do with ploys like Communities of Opportunity (COO).
I have been monitoring and writing about Workforce issues for the longest time ever. Now, I will challenge these entities and expose them for what they are. You either do your job or if you find it too hot - in the kitchen - flee. Good riddance of very bad rubbish.
We have work to do and we do have a workforce that is there and needs some qualified Workforce Management to reevaluate the skills, improve the skills with the latest certified training, provide time-lines and goals - and create a vibrate economy in all our Districts in San Francisco.
If we are caring we will focus on those Districts that have more then 40% unemployment.
We, San Franciscans are fed up with folks that cannot think clearly, cloud the air, create ploys and machinations, confuse folks, have no clue of history - come into our living rooms and rearrange the furniture without our - permission.
We are fed up with folks that seek easy money on the back of those that are hungry and seeking to better their lives. We allow this in San Francisco because CORRUPTON has made us - BLIND.
We have a very narrow window of opportunity and we need to garner the best to revitalize our City and County of San Francisco - with San Franciscans at the helm of affairs.
