Pacific Environment and San Francisco Estuary will host a forum to examine the current state of oil spill prevention and response in the San Francisco Bay and to identify areas that need improvement in efforts to ensure the highest possible standards for future spills.

This forum will discuss the findings and lessons learned from the Dubai Star and Cosco Oil Spill investigations and will examine the state of oil spill response in the Bay, and what is missing. How can we do better in the next one? The forum will also look at the oil spill prevention and response standards in other regions such as Puget and Prince William Sounds, and will examine proposed legislative changes to oil spill response in the Bay Area and obstacles to such legislation, including budgetary constraints.
