Billionaires for Wealthcare Counter-Protest at Tea Party

by Eunice and Steve
A lone tea party member stood near City Hall in San Francisco's Civic Center when two Raging Grannies (aka Billionaires for Wealthcare) showed up after a climate action gig nearby. In "patriotic" theme red white and blue shirt and an NRA cap, he was visibly relieved to see the Granny Billionaires in their finery. "Oh good, now there are three of us!" he said... but then he took a closer look at their signs.

Frank Chu, who had joined the Granny/Billionaires at the earlier climate action demo, also participated in improv in Civic Center on this sunny San Francisco day: Tax Day, April 15, 2010.

Unbenownst to Al, a lone tea party member who waited nervously for other teabaggers to show, the Raging Grannies he greeted had changed into their Billionaire costumes and were ready for a little fun.

A Tea Party website listed a protest from noon to 2 pm at San Francisco City Hall (though it was listed as starting at other times on other sites). Over the course of about an hour a few tea partiers trickled in to Civic Center.

At 2:00pm there were still more journalists and satirists than Tea Party supporters.
