The Center for Justice, Tolerance, and Community at UC Santa Cruz will be hosting a free public lecture by Erica Williams of the Center for American Progress. The title of Williams’ talk is “The New Youth Movement: Changing U.S. Politics and Advancing Social Justice.” She will speak on Wednesday, May 12, at 7 p.m. Admission is free; parking near the event will be available for $2 per vehicle.
“The issues are impacting us in a way that we have never seen before…Something needs to change and we need to be a part of it,” says Williams, a leading activist and commentator who works to encourage the Millennial generation—today’s 18-27 year olds—and other underrepresented communities to take part in the political process.
