MUNI Riders & Drivers demand No Cuts & No Hikes!
Even after approving a devastating 10% reduction in MUNI services and price hikes for “premium” passes, the MTA (Municpal Transportation Agency), which is in charge of MUNI, announced their deficit is over $100 million for the next two years! The MTA’s solution? Proposing more cuts and more hikes!
Now, the MTA wants to declare a ‘Fiscal Emergency” for 2011-2012 in order to avoid having to study the impact that MUNI cuts and hikes will have on our communities and our environment.
In Sacramento, Regional Transit officials in charge of public transit have also declared a “Fiscal Emergency.” The media reports that this move was a “key step” towards the deep cuts that are expected in June. One of our very own MTA Board members, Cameron Beach, use to work for Sacramento RT and is well informed of the action those officials have taken…we will not let the MTA Board do what Beach’s colleagues did in Sacramento!
It is time to mobilize and demand a long-term solution to MUNI that doesn’t divide our communities or force us to fight each other for left over crumbs. The economic crisis of the MTA and the entire city cannot be solved on the backs of working and low-income families, seniors, or the disabled. MUNI Riders and Drivers United Against Cuts and Hikes! Chop from the Top, Tax the Rich!
DEMAND:
• NO Cuts! NO Hikes!
• Chop from the Top, Tax the Rich!
• Stop SFPD Attacks on MUNI!
• Riders and Drivers United for More Transit!
MOBILIZE TO FIGHT BACK!
MTA HEARING AT CITY HALL - Speak Out!

DEMANDE:
• ¡NO Recortes! ¡NO Aumentos!
